path for many participants through our link with W&NSC.
Awards for All is a Lottery grants programme
aimed at local communities. Grants of between £500 and £5000
are awarded in a simple straightforward way. Sometimes quite small
sums of money can have a big impact!

John Muir Award is an environmental award scheme focused
on wild places.
It encourages discovery and conservation in a spirit of fun, adventure
and exploration.

Lottery Fund is an awards body that uses funds from
the National Lottery to benefit charitable works of many kinds.
The Basil Houghton
Memorial Trust was established with an endowment by Mrs Doris
Houghton and named after her son, the late Basil Houghton of Shrewsbury,
who himself had a learning disability. The Trust provides money
to allow people with a learning disability to fulfil their dreams
or aspirations and to improve the quality of their lives either

Community Fund
The Fund was set up in 1989 in order to raise money in Shropshire
and to direct it to local charities in the County. In 1995 it absorbed
the Rural Initiative Fund. The Fund now receives its income from
a variety of sources including payroll deductions from individuals
(Give As You Earn), support from Borough and District Councils,
a grant from the Health Authority and donations made under the Gift
Aid Scheme. The Fund is administered by a Committee with voluntary
and statutory sector representatives.
